Country Demonstrators

With funding from Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) Country Posts, TEA supports the scale-up and demonstration of clean energy innovations in specific geographic contexts. To date, 10 demonstrator projects have been supported across Tanzania, Uganda, Somalia, Rwanda, Indonesia, and the Pacific region.

Bringing power to people, one charge at a time

After developing a battery rental service that replaces fossil fuel with solar-generated power, MOPO received TEA support to validate its technology, and enter new markets. MOPO has now passed 28 million battery rentals across sub-Saharan Africa and raised more than £21 million in further investment.
